About X89 Labs
X89 Labs is a small independent software studio building focused tools for everyday problems.
The basic philosophy is simple: software should do its job without demanding an account, collecting unnecessary data, turning everything into a subscription, or competing for more of your attention than it deserves.
Small software, deliberately
X89 Labs builds apps with a narrow purpose and a clear reason to exist. That usually means local-first functionality, minimal interfaces, and as little dependence on outside services as possible.
Privacy is treated as a design constraint rather than a feature to bolt on later. If an app doesn't need your data, it shouldn't collect it. If it can work without an account, it should.
The goal isn't to build an ecosystem. It's to make useful software and then get out of the way.
What we build
X89 Labs projects tend to start with a specific problem that existing software handles poorly, overcomplicates, or monetizes unnecessarily.
That includes apps for focus and relaxation, planning and organization, health and everyday routines, and other problems where a small purpose-built tool can be better than another platform.

Behind X89 Labs
X89 Labs was founded by a retired U.S. Navy officer whose background includes operations, information security, and the handling of sensitive material.
That experience shaped some fairly durable preferences: collect only what you need, keep systems understandable, reduce unnecessary dependencies, and don't make users surrender control just because it's convenient for the developer.
Those principles now guide the software.
